PCV Valve Service
PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) system is an emission-control device used in vehicles that removes leftover combustion gases from the crankcase, which is the oil pain and the lowest part of the engine. It directs them back into the engines through the intake manifold where the gases get burnt in the chambers instead of escaping into the atmosphere through the exhaust system.
Basically, the PCV valve is like a tunnel or connector that ensures continuous refreshment of the air inside the internal combustion engine’s crankcase. If the gas leaks, it can be harmful to the engine because it contains compounds that can be lethal by forming oil sludge. The sludge consistently forms a petroleum jelly-like substance which can cause damage by clogging up passageways in the engine. Furthermore, escaped gases can build up too much and cause the pressure to blow out seals and gaskets.
With Auto Excel’s skilled personnel, we will ensure the working PCV valve will keep the crankcase air as clean as possible and help you avoid engine failures. Just like any other working parts of a vehicle, the PCV valve wears out over time and gets gummed up. We will conduct a routine oil change to extend the life of the valve but eventually replace it when the time comes.
Most vehicle manufacturers recommend a PCV valve replacement after 20,000 or 50,000 miles. Based on the driving conditions, it’s an inexpensive repair and here at Auto Excel, we have got you covered.
