Radiator Flush Service
It’s always important to replace your engine every 60,000 miles. What it does is keep your car from freezing in the winter and overheating in the summer.
The summer can be one of the harshest driving conditions on your car with hot temperatures outside. It’s a great time in the spring to get your radiator checked to make sure it’s ready for this driving condition. Most cars now use a long-life antifreeze. The older anti-freeze used in cars used to be replaced every year but now after 5 years or 60,000 miles, some manufacturers recommend replacing it after that every 30,000 miles.
Coolants now come in many colors, It used to be green, but now it can be in orange, pink, blue, green, yellow or even clear. The reason to replace your anti-freeze is because it becomes acidic with time and inside parts can start rusting the thermostat, radiator, or water pump. It also loses its strength such that it doesn’t cool properly causing the car to overheat.
We use tools to check the acidity, and recommend a flush that includes a system cleaner that will help prolong life after the flush is done.
